Camp Gan Israel during Covid-19

We have been innovating. Planning. Brainstorming.

Our guiding question has been, "How do we provide our campers with the most exhilarating and memorable summer yet— in the framework of the extra safety and vigilance that is necessary in these times."

We think we've struck the balance.

Camp this summer will certainly look like no other. But make no mistake - this summer will bring our campers the joy, movement, friendships, Jewish pride, and dose of CGI energy that they so deserve.

Camp Gan Izzy will have a few different components this year.
1. We will be having Camp Gan Izzy each morning over an online platform - with our counselors from last year! Our awesome and fun counselors are planning a variety of activities. We will have 3 45-minute sessions each morning between 9am-12pm. We will provide our campers with supplies each week. Camp tshirts will be provided too! We will have 2 different age groups, just like in camp! See a sample of a day of camp below.

{- Camp Family Pods. Just a suggestion: If you are hanging with one other camp family, consider creating your camp family pod. Have your kids together for camp hours and you can alternate dropping your kids off at the other family's home.}

2. Camp Gan Izzy - at home! Our counselors will actually be in Greenville! They will be doing weekly social-distanced visits to our camper's homes. They will stay on the front or back yard and interact with the children with a fun activity, for about 45 minutes. This is an opportunity for children to interact with the counselors in person (albeit masked :)). If you are bubbling with another family, you can have your counselor visit together as well.

3. Camp Family Experience: once a week, we will have an outdoor camp family experience, in which each family is on their own blanket. We will have a show and other treats and it will be a special time to get together an see each other in person. Our mini-Gan kids are welcome to join us for this camp family experience.
